The trigger and data acquisition system for the NA62 experiment at CERN

The NA62 experiment at CERN aims at measuring the ultra-rare kaon decay K + → π + ν ν ¯ with a decay in flight technique. The nature of the experiment puts stringent requirements on the trigger and data acquisition system, which is being developed exploiting in part existing solutions. The design concepts for the system are discussed, the chosen solutions are described, together with some results from the prototype test systems.
