Abstract
An antiplane problem of the diffraction of a step-shaped wave with rectilinear front on a semiinfinite cut in the elastic plane is considered. On the edges of the cut, the conditions of the impedance (Winkler) type are given, specifically, the vectors of stresses and displacements are proportional. The problem is solved by the method of successive approximations and, at each step of the approximation, the corresponding problem for the rigid even plate is solved by the Smimov-Sobolev method [1]. The expression for the displacements coincides with the exact solution obtained by the method of integral transforms.
