Abstract :
The performance of a beamline depends, in addition to other parameters, significantly on the manufacturing imperfections of the optical elements and the misalignment of the optical elements from the ideal position. The influence of these errors on a TGM based soft X-ray beamline designed for the Indus-1 storage ring is studied. We have performed ray-tracing to determine the influence of various imperfections like slope error and microroughness in the optical elements and misalignment factors like three position co-ordinates and three angular deviations for each optical element on the flux and resolution characteristics. The results are discussed in this paper, in terms of tolerance limit one has to put for this beamline on these parameters. The beamline hardware should have sufficient high precision flexibility to keep the alignment of the beamline within these tolerance level.
