Evaluation of Libraries of Telecommunication Offices of Mazandaran Province based on Special Libraries Standard in Iran

This study trying to assess the situation of Mazandaran telecommunication libraries based on special libraries standard of Iran. Therefore, these hypotheses were formulated: What is the state of Mazandaran telecommunication offices libraries based on special libraries standards? Type of this research is applied which evaluates Mazandaran Telecommunication Offices based on special libraries standards in Iran. The statistical population of this research including the librarians of Mazandaran telecom libraries, for data collecting, field method were used. In order to collecting information and researching data, assess questionnaire of Mazandaran telecommunication offices libraries based on special libraries standards in Iran was used . The questionnaire contained 68 questions including eight indicators are: Objectives and Tasks (Questions 1 to 8) Organization and Management (9 to 14) Manpower (15 to 20) collection (21 to 33) Organizing Resources (34 to 45) Services (46 to 55) Building and Equipment (56 to 63), Budget (64 to 68) and all based on the Thurston range (Yes - No). The Cronbachʹs alpha for the questionnaire was 0.79, indicating the acceptable reliability. According to the final results of the assessment standards of 8 items on Mazandaran telecom libraries in special libraries in Iran. It was observed that any 8 standards of i.e. goals and tasks, organization and management, manpower, collection, organization, services, construction, equipment and funding standards are not consideration in these libraries and only a few cases of each of the 8 standards is consideration .Thus the special libraries standards of Iran does not comply with Mazandaran telecom libraries.
