Abstract :
We review the key features of the 1st and 2nd level triggers and the subsequent data acquisition for the ATLAS experiment at LHC. Particular attention is given to compatibility of the architecture with the most important physics processes. Modelling and custom design developments, and plans for prototype testing of the DAQ, are described.
