Diffraction-limited resolution of the optical transition radiation monitor

The space resolution of the optical transition radiation (OTR) monitor is discussed. It was found that for an ultrarelativistic electron beam the space resolution does not depend on beam energy but long tails are created in the image which make a measurement of the beam halo difficult.
