A TENSILE CRACK IN AN ELASTIC MEDIUM WITH VARIABLE PROPERTIES SUBJECT TO PLANE DEFORMATION

Materials containing structural nonhomogeneities of various sort such as pores, microcracks, or reinforcing components have a number of specific features. The experimental results [1-5] indicate that the deformation process of such materials cannot be characterized in the general case by a set of parameters invariant to conditions of loading or deformation. This observation is confirmed also by the analytical results for the elasticity parameters of cracked media [6, 7].
