Abstract :
At Liverpool University, a system for single user control of an FEL has been designed to satisfy the low voltage FEL (<200 kV) operational requirements. This system incorporates many aspects of computer automation for beam diagnostics, radiation detection and vacuum system management. In this paper the results of the development of safety critical control systems are reported.
