Abstract :
Cyclotron based neutron radiography is attractive due to its public acceptance related to the nuclear safety when compared with a reactor. The Institute of Nuclear Energy Research (INER) has recently installed a H− compact cyclotron (TR30/15) mainly for radioisotope production. Hence this accelerator which has high power (30 MeV, 400 μA) will be ideal for application to neutron radiography as well. A conceptual design is conducted and the expected flux at the irradiation position is estimated as 2 × 107 n cm−2s −1 with L/D ∼ 50.
