The optimal detector surface of a fixed target RICH with a tilted mirror

The origin of the optical error in the Cherenkov angle measurement in the case of a tilted RICH mirror geometry is described together with possible reductions of this error. It is shown that by suitably adjusting the detector form, the resulting contribution to the overall error in Cherenkov angle measurement can be made negligible.
