The NA48 liquid krypton calorimeter project

The CERN-NA48 collaboration is preparing a new experiment aiming to study CP violation in the K0-K̄0 system with an accuracy of 2 × 10−4 in the parameter Re(ε′ε). Neutral kaon decays into two π0 are reconstructed by a quasi-homogeneous liquid krypton (LKr) electromagnetic calorimeter. This paper reports the progress on the construction of the 24 tons LKr calorimeter that will soon be installed in the experimental area. First beam data are expected by September 1996.
