Liquid xenon calorimeter for the new detector CMD-2M

An upgrade of the detector CMD-2 at the e+e− collider VEPP-2M in Novosibirsk is discussed. The electromagnetic calorimeter of the upgraded detector will contain liquid xenon as well as CsI crystals. It will improve the spatial resolution for 100 MeV γʹs from 16 mm to 1.6 mm and the energy resolution from 9% to 5%. The design of the calorimeter and test results are presented.
