Abstract :
A 2D imaging structure, using chlorine doped cadmium telluride connected to a read-out circuit by indium bumps, was characterized with a 70 kV dental X-ray tube. The imaging capabilities of such a structure with an experimental device of 100 μm pitch are presented. The theoretical resolution limit, due to K escape photons and photoelectrons, was computed by a Monte Carlo code simulation for 100 and 50 μm pixels. Experimental measurements of dynamic range, linearity, line spread function, signal to noise ratio and modulation transfer function are realized.
