Abstract
The 6 MV tandem accelerator, designed and developed by the Shanghai Institute of Nuclear Research (SINR), was completed in 1992 and has been in operation for experiments since then. The main design features of the accelerator, as well as the experiences gained during the development and operation, are presented.
