Abstract :
Due to the increased luminosity and reduced bunch spacing in run 2, the Dط collaboration is in the process of upgrading its charged particle tracking detector. One of the principal components of the upgrade, is the silicon tracker. The silicon tracker gives Dط the capability to tag secondary vertices from short lived particle decays. One of the main goals of this improved capacity, will be the ability to identify b-quarks that are either directly produced or come from top quark decays. This paper describes some of the aspects of this project.
