The Geiger discharge revisited Part III. Convergence

Previous treatment of the Geiger discharge has been based on the breaking-off of the discharge when the average number of avalanches, bred from a single one, falls below unity. The present paper studies the convergence of the discharge, past this nominal break-off point, and shows that results derived from “break-off” and from “convergence” are related, to good accuracy, by a simple scaling of the over-voltage.
