Abstract
The TOPAZ muon detector is constructed from rectangular drift tubes and a hadron absorber, which cover both the barrel and the forward-backward regions. It operated successfully for eight years until the end of the TOPAZ experiment in the summer of 1995. This paper gives a detailed description of the muon detector and the muon identification software.
