Study of interferences with the visible synchrotron light emitted from various magnets at the ESRF. Use of optical images for diagnostic on the electron beam

Our purpose is to calculate and describe the direct visible light emitted from quadrupoles, and dipole edges in a complex long straight section at the ESRF with a general method. We first build the equation governing the interference process between several magnets, and derive its consequences. Then we present numerical simulations and the corresponding recorded real data. The understanding of the emission characteristics might be important in system, and the corresponding applications in diagnostics.
