On the emittance growth due to noise in hadron colliders and methods of its suppression

Decoherence of transverse dipole oscillations and emittance growth in head-on colliding hadron beams is considered. The analytical approach developed permits us to reveal dependences on the noise source and the major characteristics of the feedback system. Requirements on the damping system for transverse oscillations at the LHC are discussed.
