Abstract :
A sealed-off gas electroluminescence detector has been described that has a primary-electron focusing system and features an increased detection efficiency for MoKα and AgKα energies. Stabilization of the peak position with changing load has been achieved. The peak-to-valley ratio has been markedly increased for quanta above 10–12 keV through the use of a pulse rise-time discriminator.
