Extraction of Fetus ECG Using Adaptive Filters: A New Approach.

The fetal ECG is useful tool in the assessment of condition of fetus before and during labour time. FECG signal is weak relative to MECG signal and competing noise. The FECG signal which is recorded from the abdominal electrode is dominated by MECG signal. This interference produced by MECG signal can be removed by adaptive filters using LMS and RLS algorithms. In this paper we modify the LMS algorithm such a way that it gives better results than standard LMS and RLS algorithms.
