Abstract :
This paper introduces a new approach for the improvement in the visual quality of image. This documentation explain one of the simplest and latest method of image denoising which is the advancement in the field of wavelet transform. The method which is used here is “Probshrink” method. This method is based on the principle of wavelet transform and probability. Probshrink give better image quality in comparision to Bayes shrink and other shrink methods. This method perform image denoising action by suppression the noise and preserved the actual image. It can detect important image details accurately and accordingly adapt the degree of noise smoothing. Here probability of wavelet coefficient is calculated by assuming a generalized Laplacian prior. It will go in depth to how exactly Probshrink work and its advantages over other denoising methods. This method improve the signal to noise ratio to a larger extent in compare to other shrink methods. The wavelet reconstruction contains artifacts along the edges in an image. These edges can be captured efficiently by Probshrink method. It should preserve the fine structures in the image and at the same time should not introduce artifacts. This method is also used for generating multispectral satellite images. In the satellite systems it may be desirable to perform denoising before the image compression step in order to improve the compression efficiency. Also deconvolution of satellite images is often useful and can be performed as an inverse filtering operation followed by denoising. The proposed multiband ProbShrink better denoises any multispectral band in comparison to other denoising methods.
