Abstract :
The problem of testing the dynamic strength of materials with macrocracks is considered. A new device for creating shock pulse loads of microsecond duration is described. This device is based on the surge current generator. The results of the experimental investigations of the brittle fracture threshold of specimens made of polymethylmetacrylate are presented.
