The ATLAS Inner Detector

In 1997, the ATLAS Collaboration submitted a Technical Design Report (TDR) for the design of its Inner Detector (“ID”) [1, 2]. In this paper, the performance of the Inner Detector is presented, with particular emphasis on aspects of significance for B-physics.11Physics associated with high energies and high luminosity is also of great importance to ATLAS.
