Abstract
Power ultrasound doubles the rate of decomposition of aqueous NaOCl at 75° catalysed by a mixture of powdered CuO and MnO2. Sonication appears to enhance the reactivity of the system through the generation of a new catalytic material, probably via interparticle collision.
