Abstract :
This paper presents burn calculations of advanced fuel targets including deuterium and D–He3 targets. It has been shown that introduction of a small fraction of tritium atoms (1%) distributed uniformly through the fuel significantly relaxes the ignition requirements. The fuel mass is 20 mg that is surrounded by a high opacity tamper shell having a mass of 60 mg. These calculations have been carried out using a fuel ρR ranging from 40 to 80 g/cm2.
