Abstract :
The possibility to extract the signal of high-mass gluino production in pp-interactions using the channel (jets+pTmiss) is studied. The simulation includes a detailed modelling of gluino decay with mass mg̃=1000 GeV in the minimal supersymmetric standard model, followed by a simplified description of a general purpose LHC detector. A neural network trained with back-propagation extracts the signal of high-mass gluino production with greater significance and efficiency than the usual cuts.
