Abstract
A new strip readout system for the Aleph streamer tubes Hadron Calorimeter is described. A new version of the Fastbus module named Aleph STrip Read-Out Scanner (ASTROS) has been designed, produced, installed inside the Aleph Data Acquisition system and operated successfully since the last data taking period of 1996. The architecture, the characteristics and the performances of the module are described.
