Combined b-tagging

A method of separating b-quarks from other flavours using combined information is described. The various differences between B-hadrons and other particles are accumulated in a single tagging variable. The method guarantees the optimal tagging if the discriminating variables are independent. The tagging procedure is simple and can easily include any number of discriminating variables. Direct comparison between data and simulation confirms the possibility of using this method in physics measurements.
