Abstract
A method for measuring ion neutralization factor is proposed. It uses the difference in the temporal response of trapped ions and beam electrons. In this method, ring parameters, such as beam emittance, betatron functions, off-energy function and beam energy spread, which are requisite values in a conventional method but are quite difficult to measure experimentally, especially for low-energy electron beams, are unnecessary. The method was applied to a 15 MeV injection phase of Super-ALIS. The results are presented.
