  • Abstract
A laboratory Compton scattering imaging system has been developed. The imaging in this system is based on using a pin-hole collimator, scintillator plate, two image intensifiers as the detector and a CCD matrix as the readout device. The X-ray tube (the voltage – 100–200 kV, the average current – up to 0.5 mA) was used for irradiation of objects. The control of the CCD-camera, X-ray tube and other additional electronics is carried out by a PC. A computer is used for reading out, storage, processing and displaying of the images. The creation of a mathematical model by Monte-Carlo simulation accounts for the system parameters in real geometry. The images of various test objects are presented. Application of such system allows creation of the 2D image in real time and the 3D image of objects by one-coordinate scanning of object.
