Abstract :
We propose a new kind of X-rays detector based on a low pressure multistep gaseous detector coupled to a microchannel plate acting as X-rays → electrons converter. Efficiency of 1.2% has been obtained with a photon energy of 60 keV. The utilisation of the detector in X-ray imaging allowed us to measure a spatial resolution of 0.7 mm.
