Abstract :
We developed imaging plates (IP) for neutron detection whose basic characteristics and the imaging process were evaluated. Based on these results, we have optimized the structure of IP, that is to say, the molar ratio of the phosphor to the converter and the thickness of the phosphor layer. Then, a new high resolution IP for neutron detection, IP-ND (HR), has been developed. The imaging properties such as, the sensitivity, the linearity, the resolution, the noise characteristics, and the effect of γ-rays are presented.
