ON STRAIN HARDENING OF ROCK MATERIALS

The mechanism of strain hardening of rocks under compressive stresses is modeled using the concept of the shear strength due to local (idealized) slip. This slip. under certain conditions, is accompanied by loosening of the material. The simplified concept of slip according to M. Ya. Leonov is used. It is assumed that the materials under investigation are orthotropic in the domain of elastic deformations. The proportional and complex loadings are considered.
