Abstract :
The method of electron cooling with using an electron beam circulating in a storage ring is described. The special features of the physics of the cooling process in the case of a circulating electron beam are considered. Electron beam dynamics in the cooler ring with a longitudinal magnetic field is discussed. The proposed method can be used for electron cooling of ions and antiprotons in the GeV energy range.
