The electron beam diagnostics by the hard part of the synchrotron radiation spectrum

The methods allow us to determine the horizontal and the vertical emittance of the electron beam by the spatial distribution of the hard part of synchrotron radiation (SR), passing through the steel plug of the SR outlet port (without using SR outlet beamlines). The first experiments by the determination of the vertical emittance of the electron beam have been carried out. The results of the experiments have shown that proposed methods (with using the TV camera) allow us to determine the vertical emittance of the electron beam at the current I=1 mA in the range of electron energies 1.6–2.5 GeV with the beryllium window in the SR outlet beamline and in the range of electron energies 2.2–2.5 GeV with the steel plug in the SR outlet port. In common the measurements have shown that the vertical size of the SR beam coincided with the calculation. However, in certain modes, the asymmetry of the SR distribution was observed. It can be due to the asymmetry of the vertical angular distribution of the electron beam.
