Abstract :
It is shown that the present state of art in constructing chirped pulse amplified lasers with intensity up to 1020 W/cm2 and high-brightness electron accelerators with energies up to 10 MeV and bunch charge up to 100 nC, could serve as a ground for R&D work on compact X-ray sources for transvenous coronary angiography, based on nonlinear backward Thomson scattering and compatible with the requirements for clinical use.
