Lead of India in Glittering Gold: A Perspective Approach

It is important to have a portfolio in investment to diversify the investment to different kinds of instruments. It is observed that gold is a good portfolio diversifier, a hedge against stock and safe haven in extreme stock market condition. As an investment instrument, stock is exposed to macroeconomic risks and global stock market risks. In this research, the researcher has conducted a study to know the lead of India in glittering gold considering the stock prices data from 1980 to 2013 particularly. The final result obtained from the analysis shows that the gold investment is more advantageous than the stock investment though it has positive benchmark in the Indian economy.
