Abstract :
The BABAR experiment at SLAC has just presented its first physics results, with the primary attention on the expected measurement of the CP-violating sin(2β) parameter. Apart from the observation of CP asymmetries, the first year of operation has led to a variety of results that are already competitive with the worldʹs best measurements. We present a selection of these results including BB̄ mixing, B lifetimes and a variety of branching fractions, in particular for rare B decays.
