Abstract
The paper discusses results of numerical simulation for operation of a target with a cylindrical chamber and converters positioned on the side surface of the walls rated at a driver energy of about 10 MJ. Effect of ion pulse duration and form and some chamber structural elements on the target parameters is studied. The studies are a continuation of the effort commenced in 1993, the results of which were presented at the 11th and 12th Symposia on Heavy Ion Inertial Fusion in Princeton and Heidelberg, respectively.
