Abstract :
A new MPPC has been produced by Hamamatsu Photonics for the near detectors of the T2K experiment. We characterized the response of the new device and measured all the main parameters and their dependence on over-voltage and temperature. We present in this paper measurements of crosstalk, after-pulsing and photon detection efficiency. A set of models built on these measurements have been implemented in a Monte Carlo simulation to describe the MPPC response. A very good agreement is found between data and Monte Carlo at various voltages for low light level.
