Experience with HERA-B vertexing

The reconstruction of the decay vertices of long-lived particles like B mesons and their separation from the primary interaction is one of the primary tasks at the HERA-B experiment. Using data collected in the year 2000, the design and performance of the silicon vertex detector are reviewed. Results from track and vertex reconstruction are presented.
