In-vacuum wiggler at SPring-8

A wiggler dedicated to material research has been designed for SPring-8 to provide high brilliance hard X-rays in the 20–200 keV range. The originality of this device is not so much in its magnetic arrangement (a simple conventional hybrid design), but in the fact that it is of the in vacuum type. The first magnetic measurements are presented here, as well as some unusual characteristics of this wiggler (low total power, narrow emission angle).
