Abstract
A visual program to calculate the efficiency and polarization behavior of diffraction grating is developed. This program calculates the grating efficiency numerically by the differential method. In addition the polarization change of the incident photon beam due to a diffraction grating can be obtained by constructing the Jones matrix from the calculations of both linearly polarized components of the electro-magnetic wave. The program has been tested to be valid and accurate by comparison with the published results and by the reciprocity theorem.
