Abstract
A novel scheme of a multi-beam generator operated with two-dimensional distributed feedback has been proposed. The generator consists of different planar FEL-units, each one utilising a two-dimensional Bragg resonator and is driven by a sheet electron beam. Synchronisation of radiation from different units would be achieved via transverse electromagnetic energy fluxes taking place in 2-D Bragg resonators.
