Abstract
We investigate the application of Gaussian quadrature to experimentally measured γ-ray yields (as a function of detector angle) to determine total γ-ray emission probabilities. For a fixed number of detectors, the detector angles can be chosen to optimize the accuracy of the integration. In many cases the integration can be made exact, if information about the γ-ray emitting system is known. Applications to specific cases will be discussed.
