Abstract
The thin superconducting solenoid for the CMD-2M detector is described. The superconducting solenoid produces a magnetic field up to 1.5 T in a volume of ∅0.7×0.9 m2. The coil is indirectly cooled by LHe at 4.2 K. It is also shunted by uniformly distributed resistors that provide quench protection of the solenoid. The radiation thickness of the coil is 0.08X0. The solenoid is manufactured in BINP.
