The Belle Silicon Vertex Detector Trigger

The installation of the new Belle Silicon Vertex Detector SVD 2 during the summer of 2003 will bring some substantial improvements in the tracking and triggering capabilities of the Belle detector (Nucl. Instr. Meth. A 479 (2002) 117). A trigger part is included in the front-end readout electronics and a new hardware trigger Level 1.5 is introduced. Both improvements are essential in dealing with the increasing peak luminosities of the KEKB machine.
