Abstract
This review concerns radiation phenomena accompanying the passage of charged high-energy particles through periodic and amorphous media. Radiation processes in periodic media related to the uniform motion (PXR—Parametric X Radiation, RTR—Resonance Transition Radiation) or Coulomb scattering (Coherent Bremsstrahlung—CB, Channeling Coherent Bremsstrahlung—CCB) of relativistic particles have been discussed in my monograph and review (High Energy Electromagnetic Processes in Condensed Media, Wiley, New York, 1972; Phys. Usp. 44(6) (2001) 571). The results obtained in this field are widely used in current physical research in such areas as basic science, technology development and apparatus design.
rphous media the Bremsstrahlung of high energy electrons, which plays an important role in modern experiments (Phys. Rev. D 56 (1997) 1373; Phys. Rev. Lett. 76 (19) (1996) 3550; Phys. Rev. Lett. 91 (2003) 014801) is discussed in detail (Phys. Usp. (2003) in press).
