  • Abstract
We propose a new gamma-ray imaging detector based on a gaseous time projection chamber (TPC). The most important feature of this detector is the ability of measuring the initial direction of a recoil electron in Compton scattering process. In order to measure the precise track of the recoil electron, a micro Time Projection Chamber (μ-TPC) has been developed, which enables us to measure the three-dimensional tracks of charged particles using electrodes with a pitch of 400 μm. Using both information from the μ-TPC and an Anger camera for measuring a scattered gamma-ray, we have succeeded in obtaining a gamma-ray image.
